As discussed in our last SLT Meeting of October 10, 2024. Title 1 Funds must be appropriated in accordance to Title 1 Laws and Parental Agreement

Title I

School-Wide Program (SWP) vs Targeted Assistance School (TAS)

An SWP school uses Title I funds to upgrade the entire educational program of the school.

Title I funds can be used to serve ALL children.
All students can receive additional services.
Funds made available for After School and Morning Programs and Clubs for ALL Students
No identification of student is made that renders them eligible or ineligible for services.
Funds are made available so students identified as most at risk are given additional assistance.
Plan must be based on a comprehensive needs assessment for ALL STUDENTS.

A TAS school CAN ONLY use Title I funds to support programs for eligible children for

Student identified as eligible
Socio economic status will determine eligibility
Students who are failing AND eligible for services and that meet title 1 guidelines
Students at risk of failing, to meet the state's high academic standards
Limited After School Programs
Limited Technology and School Resources
